This Thanksgiving was extra special...Justin had Thanksgiving off this year which is extremely unusual! He typically volunteers to work for the guys that have families and children and last year we were in Ireland on our honeymoon. This was the first Thanksgiving that we have had dinner with our families.
Being newlyweds and never spent a Thanksgiving or Christmas together, we have had a hard time figuring out our holiday schedule...so I'd love some feedback on how y'all figure that out. Both of our families eat at the same time for both holidays (lunch) which makes it extremely difficult. I guess that's something we will have to figure out here very soon!
On our trip home today, while looking around, all I could think about was how thankful I am for everything. I'm so thankful for two amazing dogs. They absolutely complete me and fill my life with joy. Looking to my left was my husband bundled up ready to go fishing with my dad. I'm so lucky to be married to such a handsome, genuine man. He has truly been my rock for such a long time now. I was thinking about how thankful I am to live in such a beautiful place that allows us to experience so much and how excited I was to be heading home to my sister. She is my world. I have never been so connected to another person. I love her more than words can describe...and I'm so thankful for all the opportunities she has. We are both so lucky to have been born to such amazing, caring, and giving parents.
I am so blessed. I always have been.
I am so excited for the holidays. Justin and I are going to get a tree tomorrow. Let's pray that Honey doesn't eat it!
