Ooey gooey goodness

The greatest thing about living in the south is the sweet people that are somehow "family" when there is absolutely no relation at all.
During the marriage pre-festivities, my mother in law's good friend, Mrs. Jobeth, would always make us ooey gooey butter bars for all of our showers, dinners, etc.
Last night, we were celebrating my father in law's birthday over dinner and Mrs. Jobeth brough her chewy bars and Justin and I couldn't help but rave over her ooey gooeys and how much we missed them!
She finally cracked and told me the secret!

It is a PAULA DEEN recipe! That I could find online!
S E R I O U S L Y?!

So today, I searched for the recipe and y'all won't believe what I have found.
Not only are they ooey gooey butter bars, but they are PUMPKIN ooey gooey butter bars!!!

This is a must for our Thanksgiving get together!

This is real life!!!

The recipe for amazingness is as follows:

Ingredients

Filling:1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin3 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla8 tablespoons butter, melted1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar1 teaspoon cinnamon1 teaspoon nutmeg

DirectionsPreheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.
To make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spread pumpkin mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.
Serve with fresh whipped cream.
